Warsaw, Indiana ─  A dozen members of the Warsaw Aktion Club were on hand at the Warsaw Community Public Library on Wednesday morning, helping move and clean items, making them ready for the WCPL’s annual spring rummage sale, which is this Friday.

Part of the Kiwanis family of clubs, Aktion Club is a service club for adults living with developmental disabilities who want to serve their community and hone their leadership skills.

Members of the Warsaw Aktion Club are always enthusiastic about volunteering in the community, and with the week of March 3 being Aktion Club Week, it was even more meaningful to do something at this time.

A job that was anticipated to take a few hours was done quickly with so many hands to help. WCPL Director Heather Barron used the extra time to talk with members about the library and show them around. Next, members will be grabbing their work gloves and rakes for spring cleanup at the Warsaw Biblical Gardens on the morning of April 20, Earth Day.

The Warsaw Aktion Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Cardinal Services. Guests and potential new members are always welcome. With this week’s service project taking the place of the March meeting, the club’s next meeting will be April 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Cardinal Services.
