What is the “Hospitality Lab?”

Cardinal Services’ hospitality opportunity lab prepares participants for rewarding careers in the hospitality industry, such as restaurants and hotels.

The program combines classroom instruction and hands-on skills training in our fully equipped hospitality opportunity lab, which includes a classroom, hotel room set-up, a commercial kitchen, and the new Cardinal Café.

Participants will earn a Food Handlers Certificate as they learn essentials of the five CDC Risk Factors:

¨ basic food safety

¨ personal hygiene

¨ cross contamination & allergens

¨ time & temperature

¨ cleaning & sanitation

They will also earn a ServSafe Allergen Certificate as they are instructed using the ServSafe training program covering four key areas:

¨ allergen fundamentals

¨ front of the house skills

¨ back of the house skills

¨ managing emergencies

Participants will be provided with hands-on training to achieve the two separate certificates in Food Handling  and Allergens.
