KABS is on the move, literally and figuratively! With a continued commitment to accessibility, innovation, and community connection, we’re thrilled to introduce a new transportation option in Kosciusko County: The Lake City Loop deviated fixed route.
Launching the Lake City Loop
The new Lake City Loop, launched on Sept. 8, 2025, brings a fresh approach to public transportation in Warsaw and Winona Lake. It blends the predictability of a fixed route with the flexibility our riders’ value most.
Here’s how it works:
- Operating hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Riders can catch the bus at designated stops along the route.
- Need to be picked up nearby? Schedule a deviation within a quarter mile of the route for added convenience.
- The Loop connects employers, health care facilities, grocery stores, and local service centers.
This hybrid model offers structure for daily commuters while remaining accessible to those just outside the main travel path, truly the best of both worlds.
On Demand KABS Services Still Going Strong!
While the Lake City Loop adds exciting new options, our on-demand services remain the cornerstone of KABS transportation.
Every weekday, we provide more than 150 rides to residents who rely on flexible scheduling. Rides can be prescheduled for our on-demand routes by calling dispatch at 574-267-4990. Hours of operation are 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
